What was DGJI?

The Denver Green Jobs Initiative was a collaborative program led by Mi Casa Resource Center funded through the Department of Labor's Pathways Out of Poverty grant program, authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). DGJI provided free services to residents of northeast Denver (see the Eligibility Criteria page for more details) in green jobs training (technical and administrative), life skills and career readiness training, support services and job placement assistance.

DGJI provided:

• Training customized to meet participants' needs
• Job placement assistance and access to employers
• Apprenticeship training
• Computer training, resume writing and interview preparation

Women, minorities, high school dropouts, veterans (including spouses), ex-offenders and the homeless were encouraged to apply. Check our Eligibility Criteria page for more information.
