DGJI graduates have completed extensive technical and safety training, and they are ready and available for hire at no placement cost to you, the employer.

Denver Green Jobs Initiative graduates have received:

• Top-Notch Training: DGJI graduates have completed technical training designed, and delivered, by active industry partners. All graduates receive OSHA 10 training and certification.
• Hands-On Experience: DGJI graduates are immersed in hands-on training opportunities and emerge ready for the challenges of the work site. This enables you to save time and money on new employee training.
• Extensive pre-screening: All DGJI graduates underwent an extensive screening process with case managers before signing up for training classes.

There may be tax credits/incentives available for hiring DGJI graduates including:

• Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment (HIRE) Act: Employers who hired unemployed workers in 2010 received a 6.2% payroll tax incentive as well as a credit up to $1,000 per worker on their income tax return.
• Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC): By hiring certain targeted groups that fall within the target population of DGJI, employers can receive credit up to $9,000 per hire under the WOTC.
• Veteran Category Federal Tax Credits: By hiring unemployed veterans or veterans on public assistance, employers can get credits up to $4,300 per hire.
• Denver Enterprise Zone Tax Credits: Employers can receive up to $500 in state tax credit for each new employee if employer is within the Enterprise Zone. More information about these credits is available at www.MileHigh.com.
